CSA+CSF Day Coming to Winter Farmer’s Market

Do you like to eat lots of fresh vegetables and try new things? Do you want to support a local farm and get to know the people who grow your food?

Seacoast Eat Local will be hosting a CSA + CSF Day at their upcoming Winter Farmers’ Market on Saturday, February 27th, at the Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford. Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and CSF (Community Supported Fisheries), meet the farmers and fisherfolk offering shares, and sign up for the 2010 season. Fifteen CSA farms are signed up to take part in this event.

This Friday: Community Dinner & Activities Fair!

Hi Everyone! This Friday marks the first community dinner of the spring semester. These dinners are put on by the UNH Organic Club and other UNH community volunteers who love good, fresh, local food.  Slow Foodies will be baking fresh bread for the dinners this semester. The cooking begins at 2pm, and the meal begins at 5pm at the St Thomas Moore student center. After our bellies are full and the dishes are clean we will be heading over to the MUB for the Jukebox 2 Student Activities Fair (MUB Granite State Rm) from 8-12PM. Hope to see you all there~

November 14, 2009: 50-Mile Thanksgiving!! Portsmouth NH
There are two options for UNH students who would like to attend:
1. bring a dish to share & 10 dollar donation to get a seat and enjoy dinner
2. Bring a dish & volunteer to help set up/clean up. No seat reservation but a free dinner!
RSVP ASAP, carpooling will be available.

Cornucopia Holiday Baskets - please let us know if you would like to help us donate fresh food for the holiday baskets. These donations will help give families in need have good food during the Thanksgiving holiday. Deliver to Waysmeet center on November 23rd
